    1. Most tools can be easily loaded by a single operator.
    2. Easy to store.
    3. All sectionalised tools come pre-cut in nine different pieces.
    4. Most sectionalised punches include two ear pieces (horns).
    5. Punches are induction hardened, to 45-50 HRC but 55-60HRC is available for every punch in the tooling line.
    6. Special Tooling available.

PUNCH SECTION LENGTHS: 100mm LEFT EAR / 100mm RIGHT EAR / 10mm / 15mm / 20mm / 40mm / 50mm / 200mm / 300mm Note: Special lengths are available at additional cost, just select the standard length and ask us to cut to your requirements.

  • Description
  • Minimizing Material Stress
A key engineering reason for using radius dies is the control they provide over material stress. Sharp bends concentrate stress at the inner bend line, increasing the risk of cracking or fracturing, especially in high-strength steels or brittle alloys. By forming a larger, controlled radius, the stress is distributed over a wider area, significantly improving the part’s ability to withstand operational loads and maximizing its overall service life.

    Radius and Acute Options
The correct punch selection is crucial for radius bending. While a standard radius punch is often used, sometimes an acute angle punch is employed alongside the radius die, particularly when aiming to achieve precise over-bending to compensate for springback. Fabricators must ensure the punch's contact geometry aligns smoothly with the die's radius profile to prevent uneven marking or localized deformation of the material surface during the forming process.
