  • Reduced Rework and Tool Wear
While protective films represent a consumable cost, the overall cost-effectiveness is substantial. By preventing surface damage, the film eliminates the significant expenses associated with rework, polishing, and scrap parts. Furthermore, the film helps reduce the wear and tear on the press brake tooling itself by providing a clean, low-friction layer, thereby extending the die life. This makes the film a valuable, low-cost insurance policy for protecting both your high-value parts and your tooling investment.

    Resistance to Pressure and Heat
Modern anti-marring films are manufactured from specialized high-performance polymers that offer excellent resistance to the intense pressure and localized heat generated during metal forming. They maintain their integrity and protective properties through thousands of bends, ensuring a long service life per sheet or roll. Look for films with high tensile strength and puncture resistance. This durability ensures that the protective barrier remains effective even during continuous, high-volume production of challenging sheet metal components.

    Air bending force
Required press force at 90° air bending, force in ton/mtr.

The charts below give the appropriate tonnage to air bend mild steel.

    Bending force for other metals:
Soft aluminium Tons per unit length x 50%
Aluminium alloys heat treated Tons per unit length x 100%
Stainless Tons per unit length x 150%
